Use SnippetCraft without an account
Local mode keeps the core workflow on one Mac. Registration is optional and is only needed when you choose cloud synchronization.
What works locally
- Create and edit reusable snippets.
- Expand configured triggers across Mac applications.
- Organize with folders, tags, names, descriptions, and Markdown documentation.
- Use dynamic variables and global search.
- Search local clipboard history and save useful copied text as snippets.
- Import and export the complete snippet library.
What stays on the Mac
In local mode, the snippet library is stored locally. Clipboard history is also processed locally and is not included in optional snippet synchronization. SnippetCraft does not require an account to perform trigger matching.
If a library matters, export it periodically and keep the file in a location you control. Local storage protects privacy but does not protect against disk failure or accidental deletion.
When to enable sync
Use cloud sync when you want the snippet library to follow you across multiple Macs. You can start locally and decide later. Before enabling sync, review what data is uploaded in the Privacy Policy.
Move a local library
For a manual backup or transfer, export the library as a .snippets file and import it on the destination Mac. Import is duplicate-safe and reports how many items were added or skipped.
