Privacy Policy

01 Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide SnippetCraft's features.

Account information (optional). If you choose to create an account to enable cloud sync, we collect your email address and a hashed password. You can use SnippetCraft without an account — all snippet data stays local on your device.

Snippet data. When you enable sync, your snippets (names, trigger sequences, descriptions, and content) are uploaded to and stored on our cloud infrastructure so they can be synchronized across your devices.

App usage (non-personal). We may collect anonymized, aggregated usage statistics such as app version, macOS version, and crash reports to improve stability. This data cannot be used to identify you.

Website analytics. Our website uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate page visits, feature-tour engagement, and download-button interactions. Google may process technical information such as device, browser, approximate location, and referring page in accordance with its own privacy terms.

What we do NOT collect:

• Keystrokes or clipboard contents on our servers. Trigger matching and clipboard history are processed locally on your Mac.
• Browsing history or any data from third-party apps
• Location data
• Any data from text fields where your snippets are expanded

02 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect exclusively to:

• Authenticate your account and keep it secure
• Synchronize your snippets across your devices
• Diagnose and fix bugs and crashes
• Respond to your support requests
• Send transactional emails such as password reset notifications — we do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent

03 Data Storage & Infrastructure

Your snippet data is stored and synchronized using Supabase, an open-source backend platform with enterprise-grade security.

Supabase stores data on servers hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS). Your data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 and in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher. You can review Supabase's own privacy and security practices at supabase.com/privacy.

Local-only mode. If you use SnippetCraft without signing in, no snippet data ever leaves your device. All snippets are stored exclusively in a local database on your Mac.

04 Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising purposes. We share data with third parties only in the following limited circumstances:

• Supabase — our cloud database and authentication provider, as described above
• Google Analytics — aggregate website analytics used to understand visits and download interactions
• Legal obligations — if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users

05 Data Retention

We retain your account information and synced snippet data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days.

Anonymized crash and usage data may be retained for up to 12 months for analytical purposes.

06 Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Deletion — request that we delete your account and all associated data
• Portability — receive your snippet data in a machine-readable format
• Objection — object to certain types of processing

07 Security

We take the security of your data seriously. Measures we have in place include:

• All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted via TLS
• Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and never stored in plain text
• Cloud data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) via Supabase
• Access to production systems is strictly limited and audited

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at everlapp@gmail.com.

08 Children's Privacy

SnippetCraft is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

09 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify registered users via email. Your continued use of SnippetCraft after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
