Enable Accessibility permission
macOS requires Accessibility permission before an app can detect a configured trigger and replace it inside another application.
What the permission is used for
SnippetCraft uses Accessibility access for system-wide text expansion. Trigger matching and replacement happen on your Mac. The permission does not give SnippetCraft your browser history, and clipboard history is not uploaded as part of optional snippet sync.
SnippetCraft watches for the trigger sequences you configure. It does not need to store unrelated text fields on a server to perform expansion.
Enable the permission
Open System Settings
Open Privacy & Security and select Accessibility.
Find SnippetCraft
Enable the switch next to SnippetCraft. macOS may ask you to authenticate the change.
Return to the app
If expansion was already running, quit and reopen SnippetCraft so the new permission is recognized.
Test a trigger
Create a small test snippet and expand it in a normal text field such as TextEdit.
If a trigger does not expand
- Confirm that SnippetCraft is running.
- Check that the trigger exactly matches the value saved in the editor.
- Verify the Accessibility switch is still enabled after a macOS update.
- Try the same trigger in TextEdit to determine whether the issue is limited to one application.
- Remove and re-enable the permission, then reopen SnippetCraft.
If the issue continues, contact support with your macOS version, SnippetCraft version, and whether global search still opens. Do not include private snippet or clipboard contents.
