Download and install

Download the installer

Use the official SnippetCraft download. The installer is a DMG file.

Open the DMG

Open the downloaded file from your browser or Downloads folder, then move SnippetCraft into Applications if macOS presents the application window.

Launch SnippetCraft

Open the app from Applications. Because the release is notarized, macOS can verify that it was signed and checked by Apple.

Keep it available

SnippetCraft is designed as a menu-bar workflow. Leave it running when you want triggers, global search, and clipboard history to stay available.

Account creation is optional

You can create, search, and expand snippets in local mode without registering. An account is needed only if you choose to synchronize your snippet library across Macs.

Next permission

System-wide expansion requires macOS Accessibility permission. SnippetCraft uses it to detect configured triggers and replace them locally; it does not need your browser history.

If macOS blocks the first launch

Make sure the installer came from getsnippetcraft.com. If the download was interrupted, remove that copy and download it again. Do not bypass macOS security warnings for a file obtained from another source.
