SnippetCraft
Snippet manager for Mac

Make repeated text easy to find, understand, and reuse.

SnippetCraft turns email replies, code fragments, commands, checklists, contact details, and reusable templates into one structured Mac library. Use a trigger when speed matters or global search when you remember the idea but not the shortcut.

One library, many kinds of work

More useful than a folder full of text files.

A snippet becomes easier to reuse when its content, shortcut, purpose, and context stay together. SnippetCraft adds structure without forcing every item into the same workflow.

Organize with folders and tags

Group snippets by project, client, role, or topic. Add tags that match the words you are likely to search later.

Describe what each item does

Give every snippet a clear name and description so search results explain when it should be used.

Attach Markdown context

Keep instructions, links, prerequisites, examples, and warnings beside the reusable content.

Two ways to reuse

Expand directly or search globally.

Short, memorable triggers are ideal for text you use constantly. Global search handles the long tail of useful snippets you cannot memorize.

  • Type :sig to expand an email signature in any text field.
  • Open global search with ⌥⇧F and search by name, description, or tag.
  • Navigate from the keyboard and insert the matching result without opening the editor.
  • Use the same library for plain text, code, commands, and multi-line templates.
:reply → polished customer response :gitinit → repository setup commands :address → contact details ⌥⇧F → search the complete library
A library that improves over time

Capture first. Add structure when it proves useful.

Common questions

Snippet manager FAQ

What can I store?

Frequently used text, email replies, code, commands, checklists, addresses, notes, and dynamic templates.

Does every snippet need a trigger?

No. Triggers are optional because global search can find items by name, description, or tag.

Can the library grow?

Yes. Folders, tags, descriptions, documentation, and search keep a larger library understandable.
